How our SMS text message program handles consent, opt-out, and message rates
This section explains how the SMS text message program works in practice: how we obtain your consent, how you stop messages at any time, and what the messages may cost you. It sits alongside the rest of these terms and is written in plain language.
Consent is opt-in. We send text messages only to people who have chosen to receive them. You opt in by submitting a form or checking a box that clearly says you agree to be texted, and by giving us a mobile number that you control. Agreeing to receive texts is optional, and declining does not stop you from reading the site or reaching us by other means.
What to expect. Messages relate to the reason you signed up, such as replying to an inquiry or sending updates you asked for. Message frequency varies depending on how you interact with us. Your consent to texts is separate from any other permission you give, and our privacy policy explains how personal information is handled more broadly.
The short version:
- Opt out: Reply STOP to any message. You can also contact us directly and ask to be removed.
- Get help: Reply HELP to any message, or reach us through the site.
- Rates: Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
- Frequency: Message frequency varies.
- Rejoining: You can opt back in at any time by signing up again.
Opting out. Replying STOP ends the program for that number. You will usually receive one confirmation message, and after that no further texts. A message already in transit may arrive before your request is processed. If you change phone numbers, please opt out on the old number so the next person who holds it does not receive texts meant for you.
Message rates. We do not charge a fee for our texts, but your wireless carrier may bill for message and data usage under your plan. If you are unsure what your plan includes, check with your carrier. Carriers do not operate this program and are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
If anything here is unclear, or you believe you are receiving messages in error, contact us through the site and we will look into it. These terms may be updated from time to time, and the version on this page is the one that applies.
